Temple Trip

On the 10th of December we attended the Hamilton, NZ temple.  We were gone from 6:30am until 7:30pm.  I had really missed the peace that attending the temple brings.  Here is a picture of the Auckland New Zealand missionaries at the temple…

This past Sunday I got to see the First Presidency Christmas Devotional.  Elder Russell M. Nelson delivered a great message.  It is always a boost to hear the words of the Prophet and Apostles while in the mission field…

Elder Walker and I knocked on a door and the lady who answered told us to leave because she was about to yell at her 7 year old son to get in the shower.  I offered to do it for her (it was a strange experience receiving that prompting).  I got the kid’s attention and said, “Hey, you’re going to love showering one day.  Sometimes it will be the most anticipated part of your day.”  Then he stopped for a moment and looked at me and said, “Ok.  I’ll do it.”  The mom was shocked to say the least.  We played basketball with the kid and now we’re coming back next week to teach the lady and her son…
